The supporting association of the Forum Artium is the central pillar of our academy. Through their membership and donations, committed music lovers help to ensure that the Forum Artium remains a place of musical excellence and promotion of young talent – open, international and accessible to all.
Every year, around 500 young musicians from all over the world come to Georgsmarienhütte to be taught by renowned artists in over 40 masterclasses. These courses are not only artistically, but also personally formative – and often a decisive step on the way to a professional music career. The association helps to remove financial barriers and enable participation regardless of background or financial situation.
The MUSICA VIVA festival, which has its origins in the Forum Artium, is also supported by the association. The series combines historical performance practice with up-and-coming artists and brings high-calibre concerts to the region year after year.

Why your contribution counts
Over 500 musicians come to Georgsmarienhütte every year for more than 40 masterclasses – many of them shortly before or in the middle of their music studies. For them, participation is a valuable opportunity, but also a financial challenge.
Travelling expenses, accommodation and meals often cannot be covered by concerts, part-time jobs or family support alone. To ensure that talent does not fail because of money, we keep the participation fees as low as possible. Your donation makes this possible.
MUSICA VIVA – a stage for young musical talent
The MUSICA VIVA festival is the artistic flagship of our academy. For over 30 years, it has brought high-calibre concerts with internationally renowned artists to the Osnabrück region. Many of them were themselves participants or lecturers in our masterclasses.
