With her versatility in a wide variety of repertoire, ChristinaLandshamer is in demand worldwide as a concert, opera and lieder singer. Her collaboration with conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt, Manfred Honeck, Alan Gilbert, Marek Janowski, Franz Welser-Möst and Christian Thielemann has taken her to such important orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester Hamburg, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the SWR Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, the Munich Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Orkest Amsterdam, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, the Orchestre de Paris, the Accademia Nationale di Santa Cecilia Rome and the Swedish Radio Orchestra Stockholm. In North America, she has appeared with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
In the 22/23 season she will be a soloist with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra twice: with a solo programme featuring the rarely heard aria Infelice! – for soprano and solo violin MWV H 5 (1834) by Mendelssohn under the baton of Andrés Orozco- Estrada, as well as all six cantatas of the Christmas Oratorio. She will perform Johannes Brahms‘ German Requiem both with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra in Rome under Jakub Hrůša and in Tampere under Petr Popelka. With Beethoven’s 9th Symphony she will be a guest with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra (under Manfred Honeck), the NHK Orchestra and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France (under Philippe Herreweghe). Christina Landshamer is also a guest at the NDR twice this season – once at the Radiophilharmonie Hannover with Poulenc’s Stabat Mater, the other time with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester and Mendelssohn’s Elijah under the baton of chief conductor Alan Gilbert. Christina Landshamer will sing the soprano part in the St Matthew Passion at the Vienna Konzerthaus under Franz-Welser Möst and in Helsinki with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Nicholas Collon.
Opera engagements have taken Christina Landshamer to the Stuttgart State Opera, the Opéra du Rhin in Strasbourg and the Komische Oper Berlin, as well as to the Theater an der Wien under Nikolaus Harnoncourt and to the Salzburg Festival under Sir Simon Rattle. She sang Pamina at the Bavarian State Opera and Het Muziektheater Amsterdam in Simon McBurney’s unique staging of the Magic Flute, Ännchen in the new production of Weber’s Freischütz under Christian Thielemann at the Semperoper Dresden, Almirena/Rinaldo at Glyndebourne and Sophie/Rosenkavalier at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. At the Bavarian State Opera, Christina Landshamer most recently sang Woglinde in Wagner’s Rheingold under
Kirill Petrenko. In the spectacular La Fura dels Baus production of Haydn’s Creation she took on the soprano roles in Paris and at the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York. In the 22/23 season Christina Landshamer will be heard as Woglinde in a concert Ring with the Dresden Philharmonic under Marek Janowski.
With her warm, lyrical soprano voice, Christina Landshamer is also an ideal Lied singer: together with her piano partner Gerold Huber, she is a welcome guest at Lied centres such as the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Hall, Wigmore Hall London, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall New York or Kioi Hall Tokyo. In January 2023, the duo will be guests in Stuttgart at the Hugo Wolf Academy.
Numerous CD and DVD recordings for labels such as Decca, Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Music, Pentatone, BR Klassik, Oehms Classics, Phi, EMI, Unitel etc. document ChristinaLandshamer’s artistic activity. In August 2022, a recording with works by Haydn, Mozart & Beethoven will be released, on which the soprano can be heard together with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
